Ayla Güvenç İmir

She graduated from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Journalism at Gazi University. Afterwards, she worked at the Turkish public broadcaster TRT. Having completed her pedagogy training, she was appointed as a journalism teacher. She also received education in art history and mythology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in cinema and television.

Since 2018, İmir has been photographing the streets. She received training in Contemporary Street Photography at the Ankara Photographers’ Association (AFSAD) and later went on to teach these workshops herself. In 2021, she served as a jury member at the Istanbul Street Photography Festival. She became a finalist at both the London Street Photography Festival and the Urban Photography Awards (2021). She won 3rd place in the Single Photograph category at the “My Istanbul” photo contest. In addition, her photographs have been featured in numerous national and international publications.
